The Absenteeism
Solution Company

Paul is the owner of The Absenteeism Solution Company. He was inspired to set up the company after working in a number of highly stressful work environments including for a multinational company, the National Health Service, a private rehabilitation organisation and a leading UK University. Paul observed the negative impact that a low individual wellbeing can have on an employee's health, resulting in an increase in absenteeism.

After leaving university Paul worked has an Exercise Physiologist for Shell UK in their London offices and for Scottish Power near Gatwick Airport. His role in both companies was to conduct health checks and advise on and implement interventions to maintain and restore employee health.

Paul moved on to a position for a private rehabilitation company contracted to provide cardiac rehabilitation to the NHS. Often stress was a contributing factor in the individual's pathology.

After 10 successful years, Paul moved on to lecturing at Keele University in Staffordshire. Paul wrote modules on health and wellbeing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, led on a number of University wellbeing initiatives and found time to pursue a PhD on employee wellbeing and interventions to increase it. This included a study exploring employee absenteeism.

More recently Paul has worked in the NHS occupying roles related to employee wellbeing and staff retention both in primary and secondary care. To be successful in these roles, Paul required an in depth knowledge of the organisational employees' profile.
